8. To promote vocations to priesthood, religious life, the diaconate, and lay ministry.

9. To support new initiatives for youth, young adults, families, and seniors.

10. To build a greater sense of unity among Catholics from all cultures within the local Church.

11. To increase collaboration among all entities in the local, national, and universal Church.

On Monday June 11, 2012 fifteen of our young adults received the Sacrament of Confirmation in a wonderful celebration at Sacred Heart Church. The ceremony was officiated by The Most Rev. Dominick J. Lagonegro, Vicar of Orange County who reminded our young adults to make Jesus their best friend.

The Sacred Heart Parish family turned out in large numbers in a show of support for the fifteen candidates on their special day, after more than two years of intense study, prayer and community service. The candidates are very thankful to their catechists and teachers Ms. Ann Brammer-Bryce and Ms. Georgia Reid for the efforts put into preparing them for this day.  Our 2012 Confirmation Candidates are Malik Abraham, Lyle Bennet, Janae Bryant, Anisha Edwards, Quinton George, Gabrielle Jackson, Tamara John, Crystal Keene, Natalie Martin, Daandra Prerre-Loius, Jessica Pipersburg, Dominique Simmons, Mandisa St. Hilaire, Matthew St. Hilaire and Mendel St. Hilaire.

The Sacred Heart Church Community wishes to extend hearty congratulations to Fr. Evariste Ouedraogo on completion of the various formations and trainings developing his skills for a better pastoral ministry and community services.

The Sacred Heart Church Community wishes to extend hearty congratulations to Fr. Evariste Ouedraogo on completion of the various formations and trainings developing his skills for a better pastoral ministry and  community services.

We continue to pray for God’s blessings and guidance on Fr. Everiste and that he will continue to serve our parish for a very long time.

The cost is $5 . . . → Read More: Valentine’s Day Breakfast]]> By popular demand, once again this year the Sacred Heart Church Youth Group will host its annual Valentines Day Breakfast to be held after each mass on Sunday 12th February. Please join us and support this fund raising effort to raise funds to purchase a security system for the the church.

The cost is $5 per person and you served with a delicious breakfast mean of pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon and juice. So come hungry and leave filled.

The Youth Group has been working extremely hard in preparation of this event and would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parishoners who kindly donated cash and ingredients for the preparation of this event. your support is greatly appreciated.

Fred Oliver

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our dear brother Fred Oliver. Fred died on Christmas day at home with his family by his side.

Fred was the original webmaster for the Sacred Heart Church website.

There will be a memorial service in honor of Fred on Saturday January 7th at 10AM at the Sacred Heart Church in Mount Vernon.
